Our office offers several treatments using injectable fillers and several very popular forms of injectable stabilized hyaluronic acid gels that have been approved by the FDA. Injectable fillers are safe and effective for wrinkle correction, lip enhancement, and facial contouring, and hyaluronic acid is a biodegradable but long-lasting injectable agent that produces a very natural augmentation effect. Both can be used for fine lines or for larger volume augmentation, such as nasolabial folds and for a very effective lip augmentation.
Augmentation is usually performed using some adjunctive local anesthetic and can be expected to last for six months or more, depending on the product and areas treated.
Injectable fillers used in our office include:
Hyaluronic Acid Gels
Juvederm Ultra XC
Each of these three products is an injectable botulinum toxin indicated for the correction of moderate to severe hyperdynamic frown lines and wrinkles. Onset of activity varies from about three to five days, and effects last about four months on average.
Common areas of treatment include:
Corners of the mouth
"Bunny lines" (nose)
Platysmal bands and necklace lines (neck)
Other medical conditions can be treated with cosmetic neurotoxins, including blepharospasm, facial tics, migraines and hyperhidrosis
A consultation is required for each of these injections, but treatment can be performed on the same day for patients' convenience. Patients may return to work and most normal activities immediately. More information, including contraindications of cosmetic neurotoxins, is available from our office and on each product's website, and should be reviewed prior to treatment.
