Injectable Fillers

What are Injectable Fillers?

As aging begins, the amount of natural Hyaluronic acid in the skin begins to decline, showing those unwanted signs of aging and making our fine lines and wrinkles more pronounced.  Injectable fillers temporarily soften wrinkles when injected into the skin and rebuild the lost levels of Hyaluronic acid. Facial Plastic & Laser Surgery Center offers several different Hyaluronic acid gel fillers, including:

Each of these Hyaluronic acid gel fillers consists of a sterile, clean Hyaluronic acid gel, which is used to correct typical signs of aging such as loss of collagen, wrinkles and folds, volume loss, and others.

Before & After Juvederm Ultra XC and Ultra Plus XC

Juvederm is a clear hyaluronic acid gel filler used to correct signs of aging, including lines, wrinkles and folds, as well as other conditions such as depressed scars and volumizing the lips.

It is commonly injected using microcannulas for such areas as the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, oral commissures and lip lines. Both Juvederm Ultra XC and Ultra Plus XC contain a numbing agent – lidocaine - to minimize discomfort from injections. Using ice or cold gel packs further reduces discomfort, swelling, and bruising.

Results usually last over six months and can last up to one year. Patients may usually return to work and most normal activities the same day. A consultation is required for Juvederm injection, but they may be performed on the same day for a patient’s convenience.
